Socio-economic profiling of tropical rivers

An early output from the People and the economy project is a report "Socio-economic profiling of tropical rivers". The report includes:  Socio-economic profiling of tropical rivers

  • an integrated conceptual framework for the socio-economic profiling;
  • an amalgamation of existing socio-economic knowledge with data from the 2006 Census;
  • a comparison of tropical catchments to identify catchments which are socio-economically 'similar' or 'dissimilar'; and
  • profiles of individual catchments based on their individual socio-economic characteristics.

Catchment profiles are available for the TRaCK focus catchments, they provide a useful a snapshot of the communities in each catchment.
