Francis Pantus

  • Francis Pantus is Associate Professor in Griffith School of Environmental Sciences, and a member of the Australian Rivers Institute, Griffith University.

His area of interest is the development of effective science support approaches for natural resources management, with a focus on aquatic resources, including freshwater, estuarine and near-coastal waters.  He has 15 years of experience in science support for natural resources management and adaptive management strategy evaluation, complex systems model integration, analysing and integrating a range of models including marine ecosystems and catchment models, sensitivity analysis of complex ecosystem models and spatial analysis and optimisation.  He is currently a theme leader and project leader in the Tropical Rivers and Coastal Knowledge (TRaCK) scientific program in Northern Australia.  In this capacity he leads the development of an integrated Management Strategy Evaluation software package delivering TRaCK research results into planning and management of the water resources of the Daly River catchment, a 53,000 km2 catchment in the North of Australia.
